Artist's Comments

I went and spent a bit of time at Olbrich Botanical Gardens here in Madison yesterday. Took a few photographs...this is one I really liked. I just LOVE the colors of this daylily.

Resized and sharpened slightly. No other postwork was done...this is pretty much straight out of the camera. :)

Enjoy!

-Mike

The southern half of the state still has flowers?! :faint: Great shot, and it's cool to see this coming from you. It's not your normal genre.

Very nice image mike. I also love the colors! The one thing that gets me though is the lighting. I dunno, i am just not feeling it, and I know you do not have much control over that either :(. If the lighting was a bit more dramatic I think we would see a really great variety of the colors at hand. The colors are just great, but I do not like the fact that we do not see darker versions of the colors, I think soft shadows on the actual plant would have created that, but once again I do not think you had much control over the lighting. It is still a great image though, I love the flower in general. The formation is really cool and the colors really match it very well. Great work.
