Alrighty Space Artists!! My terraspace contest is now underway!!

I just want to make a little clearer the issue of postworking since I've gotten a number of questions on it. Really the only thing I DON'T want to see in postwork is having the entire terrain painted over. Please feel free to go nuts with everything else! I just want to see the terrain elements in the final product. You can certainly add photographic or painted elements onto the terrain...just don't do it over the WHOLE thing. :D I hope that helps clear things up a little. :)

This is how it's going to work.

Here is a preview of the base image that MUST be used in the contest...now remember...you may certainly extend the space region well above the top of this terragen image. In fact, I would encourage it so that you may fit more spacey goodness into it. ;)

If you want to participate you MUST:

1) Note me with an email address that I am to send a copy of the render to. Also include in the note what size you wish to work with up to 5,000x5,000 pixels. I am NOT posting an image this large online for just anyone to download. The only way you can get this image is by sending me a note with your email address AND the size image you want.

2) Postwork for the most part is unlimited in terms of space art...you MAY do postwork on the terrain itself...but I want to see that the terragen part is still primarily how I rendered it to be.

3) Deadline! The deadline for this will be March 31st...midnight, U.S Central time.

4) You must post the image in your gallery and then NOTE me with a link to it. I will then put it in the list in my journal.

5) Judging: I will be doing the judging...although I MAY ask individuals who did NOT take part in the contest to help me with the judging.

6) Prizes! The prizes will be as follows and are dependent on the number of entries.
---For up to 10 entries the prize will be a 1 month subscription
---For 10-20 entries the prize will be a 3 month subscription
---For over 20 entries the prize will be the choice of a year subscription OR a prints account.

7) I may change the rules at any time.

8) Collabs are NOT allowed.

9) Only ONE entry per person...although you can change your entry up until the deadline by sending me a note with a link to the new one.

10) Use of stock materials is allowed (planets, etc.), but please keep in mind that this may be taken into consideration (It may count against you) when I'm judging your technical abilities. It's better to create your own.

I anticipate having the image ready for sure by the end of the week...so let's get those creative juices flowing people!! :#1:

If you have any questions, suggestions or ideas for the contest in terms of the rules or anything please leave a comment below!

:excited: I can't wait.

Also... I'm thinking of doing a Terraspace tutorial, sort of a walkthrough, would you mind if I did it with this piece? I would credit you and Jon, of course... if not that's fine, too.

All I'll need to get fixed up is a 5,000x5,000. I will be able to resize and unsharp as necessary. ;) :highfive: Thanks a ton for helping with this, bro. :D
