Alrighty!!! Time for the new terragen contest!
This time it's going to be a themed challenge! WINTER!!! You need to do a winter render. When I look at your entry I want to feel COLD...I want to SHIVER! Clearly it will be important to exercise your surface and atmosphere skills here as they are probably most important in winning this one. An excellent snow surface and chilly atmosphere will do the best here. Postwork will definitely be allowed in this one.
RULES!!!
1) The landscape must be rendered in terragen. (duh!)
2) The image MUST depict a winter theme.
3) You must upload it into your gallery and note me with a link to it and that you wish it to be your submission.
4) Only one submission is allowed per person, although you may resubmit pieces up until the deadline.
5) The deadline for this is going to be June 4th.
6) No collabs will be allowed.
7) I may add more rules as necessary.
8) Have fun!!!
9) The winning prize will be as follows:
If less than 10 people participate it will be a 1 month subscription
If 10-20 people participate it will be a 3 month subscription
If over 20 people participate it will be a print account or 1 year subscription.
In addition to the prize, the winner will have their image featured in my journal for at least a month after the contest is over.
10) Please don't go crazy with postwork...after all, this is a TERRAGEN contest. I will allow postwork as long as it doesn't take away from the terragen part of the image.
**NEW RULE** 11) The submission must be a new render that you have not posted to dA before. The point of the challenge is to create new art that fits the theme...not find one in your gallery...it kinda takes the fun out of it!
Now go get rendering people! Let's see some submissions! I promise I won't take so long deciding a winner this time.

Photography Outing: Thursday, July 26th.
Hey folks,
My buddy Dan and I are tentatively planning a photography outing to the UW-Arboretum here in Madison this Thursday, July 26th. Is anyone interested in joining us? We'll be hitting the trails for a good bit of hiking and photography. I think we'll be planning on getting to the Arboretum around 5:30PM. The plan will be to meet in the parking lot outside the visitor center (take the entrance off of Seminole Highway to get there) around 5:30 and then head off to shoot pics by 5:45. (let me know if you're coming so I can give you my cell ...latecomers can then call my cell to find out where we are) Oh...and if you come...we recommend b
Hmm...macro lens...
I seem to update this thing fairly infrequently...so I guess it's about time. Well, I've had my lovely Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi (I LOVE the deals on amazon.com) for about 3 months now. It's been a blast playing with it and I've gotten what I would consider some decent images from it. Much better than my old point and shoot Powershot anyway. The kit lens just has many limitations and I feel myself being held back from what I really want to do with it. At least I'm getting to that point now. Sooooo...I found a lovely macro lens (I really love macro photography and am feeling myself being drawn there the strongest at this point) on amaz
New Camera!!! Oh Sweetness!!!
Heya folks!
I got a new camera!!! YUS!! :D :w00t:  Friday I received a package containing my very first DSLR. I got the Canon EOS 400D (Digital Rebel XTi). It's a beautiful camera...and pretty dang good for an entry level DSLR. I would've preferred the Canon EOS 30D, but alas, definitely could not afford that...lol. So you may actually be seeing some photography deviations from me! How about that! :D Anyway, that's my little update.
Hope you all are well! :)

So is this contest over? I thought the winner and finalists would have been posted by now. Out of so many great entries I'd like to see who's at the top of the class.
